United States Association for Young Physicists Tournaments

The United States Association for Young Physicists Tournaments (USAYPT) hosts the annual international physics research/debate tournament known as the United States Invitational Young Physicists Tournament (USIYPT). In preparation, invited schools all prepare thorough investigations of the same four research problems. Tournament competition consists of “physics fights” in which presenters are questioned by an opposing team. The resulting conversation models the search for scientific truth as practiced at professional conferences.
