The United States Association for Young Physicists Tournaments (USAYPT) held its annual US Invitational Young Physicists Tournament 8-9 February 2008 at the North Carolina School for Science and Mathematics, Durham, North Carolina.The USAYPT expanded its annual National Young Physicists Tournament for US high school teams to invited foreign high school teams renaming the Tournament the US Invitational. This year's teams were from the Brisbane Girls Grammar School, Brisbane, Australia; the North Carolina School for Science and Mathematics, Durham, North Carolina; Oak Ridge High School, Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Rye Country Day School Teams 1 and 2, Rye, New York; the Wildwood School, Los Angeles, California; and the Woodberry Forest School, Woodberry, Virginia.
