will host the annual USAYPT Invitational Young Physicists Tournament for invited US and foreign high school teams of two or three team members. |

Requirements
To implement the local
development of USAYPT teaching methodologies we offer annual memberships
to invited US and foreign high school teachers who sponsor and supervise the
research and development
of a student team and bring them to the
US Invitational Young Physicists Tournament in February 2009.
Student teams and their teachers who wish to compete in the 2009 USIYPT must:
1. Contact a member of the Board of Directors as soon as the team is considering competing in order to receive a written invitation.
2. Have a
sponsoring teacher who is a member of the USAYPT ($100 annual dues paid by 5
Jan 2009).

3. Provide their own round-trip transportation for themselves to the Tournment area, arriving as early as the afternoon of 5 Feb 2009 but not later than the afternoon of 6 Feb 2009, and leaving the morning of 8 Feb 2009. If the team is driving, the team should drive directly to the Holiday Inn Express, Orange, Virginia. If the team is flying, the team should make arrangements to arrive and leave from either the Charlottesville-Albemarle, Richmond, or Dulles airports. The Tournament organizers will provide van tranportation from those airports to the Holiday Inn Express, Orange, Virginia. After check-in and throughout the stay, the Tournament organizers will provide van transportation from the motel to Woodberry Forest School for all events. Breakfasts will be provided at the motel daily. Lunch and supper meals will be provided at the Woodberry Forest School cafeteria.
4. Send a registration fee of $30 per person and an accommodation fee of $50 per night for housing, food, and transportation in Virginia, is due on 5 Jan 2009. Make checks payable to the USAYPT. Foreign teams may use wire transfer after coordination with the Secretary, USAYPT.
5. Provide signed copies of the application and release of liability forms from the teacher and the student's parents or guardians to the Secretary, USAYPT, not later than 5 Jan 2009. These application/release forms are here.
6.
Prepare a researched presentation of solutions to three of the four USIYPT2009
problems. Each team must
have at least three problem solutions prepared for the competition.
Each teams presentations must have all
associated
movies, photos, and tables. Each team's presentations must be able to be displayed as a poster using
hard copies of the presentation slides if the Tournament Director decides to use a poster session.
