OPENING &
CHALLENGE

The REPORTER has 10 MINUTES to present the team's solution to the problem.

The Jury is looking for the physical principles used to solve the problem.

Applying those principles should produce a theoretical model of the phenomenon and a design for an experimental apparatus.

The data obtained from operating the
experimental apparatus must then be
compared to the theoretical predictions with some definitive conclusions.

This is hard, but you will be amazed at what young people can do!

REPORT

OPPONENT
QUESTIONS

The REPORT is considered the most
difficult role in the FIGHT and the JURY scores are weighted by a factor of 3.

Not only does the Reporter have to explain his or her work, the Reporter has to prepare immediately to defend the work to the Opponent.

This takes teamwork. As one team member is presenting, the other two should take notes to help the Reporter defend the Report!
